"Twitter engineer" and ex-Eskom CEO Matshela Koko arrested

The National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA's) Investigative Directorate has arrested former acting Eskom CEO Matshela Koko, his wife, stepdaughter, and several others on charges of corruption, fraud, and money laundering.

The charges are in connection to a 2015 multi-billion-rand contract between Eskom and Swiss engineering company Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) on the construction of the Kusile Power Station.

Agteros kom ook in die kraal....

This doesn't change anything.

The problem is there's a few million opportunists waiting in line, just like this guy.

They need to aggressively unbundle Eskom and hand it over to the private sector.

I think if ANC stays then in a decade or two this entire country will be private corporate run, for better or worse. It'll be nice for those with income, but absolutely deadly for the have nots. I struggle with sympathy because you ultimately will get what you vote for.

Nice. Hope it sticks and we see someone going to the gulags.
Maybe sometime in 2040, but by then Koko will say he is an old sick man and we shouldn't be putting old sick men into jail.

His case is going to follow the route of all the ANC thieves cases which keep getting delayed because they start bogus attacks on the judiciary and say their case can't proceed until their attack has concluded, or they are sick and can't attend court, or a witness mysteriously decides not to testify, or a building that contains all the important evidence burns down or is broken in to etc.

"Twitter engineer"?

It's fashionable not to recognize someone's qualifications if you don't like them. The guy is a qualified engineer, the fact that he is alleged to be corrupt should be neither here nor there as far as his qualifications are concerned.

What does your usual knee-jerk and borderline hysterical response have to do with the question:...."twitter engineer" ?

One swallow doesn't make summer. But the stuff I am seeing occasionally looks very promising, we might even see some justice in our lifetimes...
