Yeah, I will take that with a massive pitch of salt, at some point early on in his career he must have been registered, it probably no longer made any difference as he moved up the Eskom ladder.
No he was never registered as a Professional Engineer, he registered as a candidate then cancelled. By the way this is the last thing on his mind now. He was always way in over his head when it came to the finances of running Eskom. He was all about driving operational performance while being used as a pawn to sign off contracts.

It seems Jan Oberholzer is not registered either. His name does not appear in ECSA's register. Interesting.

A couple thousand more of these types of arrests and maybe the playing field will be level and Eskom will have a fighting chance.

Remember the Carte Blanche interview with him a while back, guilty as sin and no way of worming out of the tough questions.

Off course.
How refreshing is it to be able to allow people put their loving mouths next to their positions. It used to be strictly forbidden when it came to doing the same in the Covid threads.

Eh, Mods?

sad thing is he wasnt actually a poor engineer..........he was just corrupt as **** and a piece of **** as a human being.
What a joke. He was incompetent and pretty damn useless at his profession - He was too busy cooking the books to practice his so-called profession.

Good work De Ruyter. Keep on exposing the rot in Eskom, only you are capable of doing it (apparently to some).

Not all engineers register with ECSA to become PR. Eng's, it isn't always a requirement depending on the type of engineering and field of work.

I don't agree.

To become an Engineer your need to have studied the theory at a recognised intuition. Then you need to work actively in the field where you apply the knowledge you gained while studying.

Once you are a posistion again where an international recognised body is willing to review your experience and then agree that you can now call yourself an Engineer can you be an engineer.

I guess myself and many others I know are not truly engineers, I’ll update my MyBB to reflect this.

Username: - Sorry, I’ve had a stressful day, I get where you are coming from but like I commented earlier there are engineers that simply don’t need the additional accreditation in order to work. There are many that do though, especially when they deal with work involving public liability. I’ve heard all the jokes and taken the crap about the engineering degree I did and work I do now not being ‘real’ engineering so it’s fine, we can agree to disagree if need be.
