Twitter pokes fun at Mmusi Maimane’s ‘Planet Zuma’

During the State of the Nation Address debate on Tuesday afternoon, DA leader Mmusi Maimane cited the Star Wars prologue, saying President Jacob Zuma lived in a galaxy far, far away, on “Planet Zuma”.

Following the debate in the National Assembly, South Africans uploaded creative memes on Twitter, poking fun at Maimane’s comments, accompanied by tweets with their views.

Does it have a firepool too??

Taken from Mmusi Maimane's speech.
Planet Zuma is a place in a parallel universe, far, far away from the lives of ordinary South Africans.

Planet Zuma is a place where a swimming pool is called a fire pool.

It is a place where all the continents of the world fit into Africa.

It is a place where the Finance Minister flies economy class, but the president buys himself a R4 billion jet.

Was a good speech, Malema's wasn't bad either although it was struck from the records. Doesn't stop the press though.

Have you seen Malema's Oxford address, I was impressed with that

struck from the record? the Speaker has no power to expunge a statement/speech...again Mbete trying her luck. More likely what happened, like the rest of the ANC caucus she is pissed off at Number One, hence allowing the very colourful adjectives and descriptions, the opposition were using. Realised at the end of Malema's speech, no one from their side, objected at what was being said of Baba...better say something as to show Baba some love..

The man is clearly getting some after school lessons on the side. His talk at the Cape Town Chamber of Commerce , was very much refined. Clearly bets are being hedged, EFF being a potential new ruling party...down the line.

I was ready to get excited before reading this article, then i read it........

It has been appealed as to what rule gives her the right, ruling to follow.

In the title, Twitter, or Twitter users? Big difference there.

Completely agree.... and it needs to be put in its place and hard.....

Hopefully the constitutional court takes care of that, when is the judgement coming anyway? They were all fired up and motivated to get the hearing done in one day, now just nothing?

Now they go away to consider and write up their judgement....

damn that, it's been over a week already, we need some action!

EDIT: from their website though they have cases with judgement reserved dating back to 2014 :( ... the bulk dating back to September 2015 so on average about 6 months to deliver a judgement?!? :crying:
