Google and Firefox, I hate them both :mad::mad: Firefox crashes when it's too stupid to open a webpage properly, but as soon as I try it in IE or Opera it works properly.

Stuff you FF

Google is an advertising search engine and they've forgotten what fricken search results are, try searching for a simple thing like Nokia 6500 Slide MMS delivery and you get tons and tons of sites selling a fricken 6500 Slide, but no results on mms delivery issues.

Stuff you Google

I'm switching both, just need to find a better search engine that actually searches!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

Yahoo is my first choice in search engines. But Firefox is my web browser of choice, so I can't help you with an alternative there.

Deep breaths, take deep, slow breaths...

I've had enough of giving these two a chance, I'm using Opera now and will uninstall FF soon, I'll switch to another search engine soon enough, screw them both, may they burrrnnnn

What version of FF are you running. Mine has never crashed...

The latest, I'm running it on Vista and on 2 different pc's it does the same, starts to open a site which is a bit more complicated than usual and then it FAILS.

FF = FAIL

You people are messing up your PC's with all the spyware / malware you download.

I don't have any issues with IE or FF on any of my PC's and this includes my work PC.

Dude, I'm not 3 years old, I don't visit sites which will give spyware or malware, so that's not the issue. You can't keep on using something for the sake that it's free or the sake that it's the most popular. If you want to frustrate an end user, give me bogus search results, even when I use advanced search terms, or flippen "ff not responding" me at least 4 times a day, with one extension running.

FF has been giving me issues with some javascripts lately, it's probably just some sort of bug and I'm sure it'll get fixed soon.

So teraside is not the only one.

From a web designer angle teraside, I would suggest you keep as many of the used browsers installed for cross browser testing. ;)

enigste twee aanhangsels wat ek op vuurjakkals sit, is ghriesapie (greasemonkey) en downthemall

Beste is om nie elke ding op te laai nie, bly maar net by een of twee om dinge so eenvoudig as moontlik te hou.

FF is bad when interpreting Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). From a developer's side, FF is BAD...! It cannot display navigation CSS hover statements too good, and the whole site looks messed up... Whereas IE6 and higher displays everything correct... Even Opera displays the CSS-areas correct...!

I see the problem mainly where there is a login to be made, or where certain Java (probably javascript) elements need to run. I'm a bit calmer now, just needed to vent. I havent installed Java runtime on this specific laptop yet, it's a Vista Home Premium installation with SP1, does it include the Java runtime or not?

For instance, when I try loggin in to the PUK (university) site with details from a friend, FF crashes straight away, but in IE and opera it goes through  I don't have that much of a calm effect on Google however, there's nothing I could "try" to improve search results, so it's better to use Dogpile as Snormossel suggested. Thanks Snorrie, bookmarked.

How about it...

Ah, you need to see it this way: Google is not so much a search engine as it is an art. I play guitar, the more I practice, the more new skills I apply to my guitaring, the better I (Think I) sound...

Same thing with Google. Searching Nokia 6600 or whatever is not automatically going to give you mms problem related queries for the problem. You need to get your wording right. You need to hone your searching skills. You don't have to click on any of the 5 billion ads. Ignore the ads.

Yahoo: It's like your computer screen stuck on an information directory/newspaper. If I wanted an info directory, I would go to one. I need my search engine as simple as possible. I need it to respond when I click "search". Google does. Besides, Yahoo has ads as well. So you get everything plus a search engine, where with Google you get ads plus a search engine. Everything takes way too long to load, so Google it will be.

Firefox has a new version, so give it a few weeks to happen and see if it is better. Firefox has so many functions and add-ons that make my everyday tasks so much faster, so I won't give it up soon. I do find it very unstable if I have used IE, since i tend to get a ton load of Spyware when I do, and Spyware + Firefox = Disaster.
