Cape Town - Two State witnesses in the trial of five suspects implicated in a business robbery in Kalbaskraal near Malmesbury were killed and a third person injured on Friday night.

The man and the woman, both 35, were expected to testify on Wednesday in the Malmesbury Magistrate's Court against the suspects. The State alleges the five accused were responsible for the death of three men who were shot and killed during a robbery at a supermarket in Kalbaskraal on August 25.

They were going to testify against members of a gang and they had no protection?

We need some kind of law in these circumstances. How many times have witnesses been killed just before testifying? It's blatantly obvious who the perpetrators are.

This is very sad to say, but this is why people need to mind their own business, and tell the state to piss off if they ask you to testify.

How does witness protection work?

It was a rhetorical question

Rhetorical questions don't work too well in any serious discussion forum (and not only here on MyBroadband). Trust me, if one were to (even rhetorically) ask "why do people support $name_of_dodgy_politician" or "why hasn't most people on this forum ignored $name_of_forum_troll" (or other similar question), you will find someone offering you a long list of reasons, alphabetically ordered. :p
