TymeBank officially launches in South Africa

What are the benefits, if any, to someone with a normal Big 4 bank account? Any good interest rates or features?

PicknPay smartshopper points for all your swipes. No need to pay ANY monthly fees to earn or access it. The account has zero monthly fees so even if you rack up like R40 worth of charges you get it all back in smartshopper points so you don't lose. Other banks it's not always easy to get all the fees back because you need to have a lot of specific services to earn the maximum points and not everyone earn that much.

With Tyme Digital Bank you earn 1 smartshopper point for ever R3 you swipe no matter what balance you have in the account.

Has e-commerce been launched before the bank launch?

Okay so you cant purchase anything online due to the lack of CVV numbers?

So no use for those who don't shop exclusively at PnP.

Uhmm no. The online purchases are not available yet. The CVV is printed on when you get your card at the Kiosk and after a while the printed ink wipes off. The card has a CVV number

Well you still get R3/1 point where ever you shop. Those points can be redeemed in store as actual money off your shopping or you can buy airtime in the app. Personally for me the best value is the R33 in points give you 1 x 2D ster kinekor ticket which is nice. It also applies to new release movies so that is some decent value.

If you don't use ANY of those then Tyme bank offers very affordable banking fees and good interest in the Goalsaves so there is some value there too. Pricing comparison actually listed them cheaper as Capitec.

Hold up, you earn points everywhere? Colour me interested.

Yes shopping ANY place with the card is 1point per R3. Shopping at PnP makes it 1point per R1. So you will always get points no matter what and that is why it is still essential to keep an eye on specials and not just go crazy shopping at PnP.
