TymeBank makes first profit

TymeBank has announced that it reached its first month of profitability in December 2023, less than five years since launching in February 2019.

This makes it the first digital bank to break even in South Africa and on the continent, it said.

Any action on the owner’s share price?

Well based on the two months I have been emailing them and absolutely no reply from them regarding requests I-2827879; I-2679822; I-2668914; I-2606523; I-2599754, I don't think they will stay in the black for long. In fact I've never experienced such bad service from a bank before (and I've tried them all). They will be the next bank to fail if you ask me. Their service regarding credit cards enquiries is absolutely the worst. If you want good service, stay away from them. I eventually had to ask the ombudsman to assist just to see if I could just get a reply. One month and waiting....

Been using them since 2019 and haven't had many issues. Also with 6+ million clients they're doing just fine.

It's like the Catholic Church though, you can check in but they don't allow you to leave and keep your seat warm for when you return in 10 years.

Was it about an illegal debit order deduction? I heard from a few people that they don't reverse debit orders.

Just mail them and fill in the forms and close your account. It's not rocket science.
And engage in an endless back and forth. I was told if I leave it alone for a year and don't even log in they would close it but lo and behold. Maybe with the new inactivity fee they will start closing accounts.

No, it's about smart shopper points. But can you believe it, after almost 2 months they called me today because of the Ombudsman. Never replied or called until got them involved 1 month ago. But on a side point, if anyone wants to know. You can't use your Tymebank credit card with Pnp online (Asap seems to work). Pnp told me today all RCS cards are blocked. Ironic that Tymebank linked to pnp is blocked
