Trump had 4 years to fix Flint or do any kind of actual infrastructure. And Biden's bill contains funding for replacing all the lead water pipes in the country

Well yes, that was one big disappointment from the Trump era as he did recognise the problem (failing infrastructure) but appeared to do very little about it. He actually did have a $1.5 trillion programme but it died in the Senate...

The thing is Biden's infrastructure bill also contains lots of 'pork', with budgets for stuff that would not normally be termed as infrastructure.

As opposed to all his successes. Lmao.

Like Broadband?

I see conservatives are already deleting that from the dictionary of items classed as infrastructure, eventhough Trump included it as part of his infrastructure plans.

Lmao. Don't worry, no one expected you not to be a hypocrite as usual.
If you say so. I made not hypocritical statement. Merely reacting to your failing attempts.

Ok I'll simplify it for you. His YouTube videos were flagged due to bogus claims and twitter never disclosed actual reasons for the recent bans. despite sometimes saying it was a mistake.
So yes normal people call this a joke. Again as you do know understand the concept I can understand the confusion. Might I recommend watching some Ricky Gervais?

But Blunt appeared to double down on his view the Biden infrastructure bill is simply too large: "Why would you pass up the opportunity here to focus on roads, bridges, what's happening underground as well as what's happening above ground in terms of infrastructure, broadband, all of which wouldn't be 40 percent of this package. All of which would be a stretch to get to 40 percent."

"There's more in the package, George, for charging stations for electric vehicles, $174 billion, than there is for roads, bridges and airports and ports. When people think about infrastructure, they're thinking about roads, bridges, ports and airports, that's a very small part of what they're calling an infrastructure package that does so much more than infrastructure," the Missouri GOP senator continued.

  • 1 trillion for repairing the nation's roads, bridges, waterways, rail, electric vehicles, etc.
  • Money for policies like free community college, pre-k education and paid family leave.
  • Funds for universal broadband internet access
  • Money for technologies to support 5G and a green electric grid
  • A portion of the bill focuses on carbon-free transportation

Actually, I personally support the roll-out of rural broadband as I don't think private companies will ever cover rural areas properly and it will give many of these delipidated towns a chance to participate in the modern economy where many jobs can be done remotely. This article from the New Yorker really influenced my thinking on the subject: https://www.newyorker.com/tech/anna...n-with-some-of-the-fastest-internet-in-the-us

Lefties up to their usual trick of changing the meaning of words...

Edit: Instead of playing stupid word games, why don't you lot focus on fixing the water situation in places like Flint, Michigan? You know, actual infrastructure.

Explain to me how childcare, paid leave and caregiving are not organizational structures or facilities needed for the operation of society? Especially for the purpose of enterprise. Not having any way to have my children or aged parents cared for is a much of a hindrance to me going to work as not having a road or a bridge to get to work.

Dude you are putting a lot of effort into being as obtuse as possible lately.

They even give examples of infrastructure in the definition - you know "PHYSICAL" infrastructure (paid leave is a non-pecuniary wage benefit, it's not infrastructure). You might as well talk about election "infrastructure" as well, but that is not what your man-on-the-street will think is infrastructure in the common understanding of the term.

GIVE IT MORE MONEY, FEED THE BEAST, ALL THEY JUST NEED IS MORE MONEY.

When no agreement was reached, Detroit proposed draining $428 million over nine years from the water and sewerage department to cover “catch up” pension payments owed by the department to the city’s general retirement system and other fees - a move opposed by the counties.

It doesn't fix the underlying problem that Flint was managed by people who think that money grows on trees.

About 44 percent, or $32 million, of the budget will be used to fund Flint’s legacy costs, which are retiree pensions and healthcare. The city’s reserve fund is expected to drop from $24 million to $6.3 million by the end of the next fiscal year.

Yeah, those Republicans who decided to break the system. Why do they keep doing that and then running when it comes to fix things? And then have the audacity to bitch about the cost?

Just conservative things I suppose.

They are NOT infrastructure. Don't try and spin it that way.

Childcare facilities and caregiving facilities are closer to the mark. Paid leave definitely is not infrastructure
