Kieppe : OMG you guys are dummmm, you only discuss peoeople

Also Kieppe: Defends child sex traffickers, racists, Tim Pool's beanie :X3:
Who starts speaking about other people I wonder? Here's a mirror for you...

Correcting your asinine comments does not mean I am discussing people.
You're just wasting my time at the moment.

Actually, I personally support the roll-out of rural broadband as I don't think private companies will ever cover rural areas properly and it will give many of these delipidated towns a chance to participate in the modern economy where many jobs can be done remotely. This article from the New Yorker really influenced my thinking on the subject: https://www.newyorker.com/tech/anna...n-with-some-of-the-fastest-internet-in-the-us

"There's more in the package, George, for charging stations for electric vehicles, $174 billion, than there is for roads, bridges and airports and ports. When people think about infrastructure, they're thinking about roads, bridges, ports and airports

That is a complete lie, did you do the research?

Yeah, those Republicans who decided to break the system. Why do they keep doing that and then running when it comes to fix things? And then have the audacity to bitch about the cost?

Just conservative things I suppose.
It was Republicans that bankrupted the Democrat city of Flint?

Seems you too struggle with context? It seems contagious in this thread.

Anyway I need to go do some practical garden stuff, like pick up dog shete.
Ironically pretty much what I've been doing on this thread the last hour worth of "discussions"

You clearly subscribe to the Eskom school of infrastructure. You see all that you need to get everything working is just piles and piles of other people's money.

Hmm.. I'm suggesting a spending cut and you're saying I'm talking about taking people's money.

Interesting comprehension there bud.

They are NOT infrastructure. Don't try and spin it that way.

Childcare facilities and caregiving facilities are closer to the mark. Paid leave definitely is not infrastructure

Explain to me how childcare, paid leave and caregiving are not organizational structures or facilities needed for the operation of society? Especially for the purpose of enterprise.

Biden’s infrastructure plan funds child care facilities, not workers

Biden’s plan would funnel $25 billion to a new Child Care Growth and Innovation Fund. That program would provide cash to states to upgrade child care facilities and build new ones in underserved areas. The proposal would also create an expanded tax credit to encourage businesses to construct child care facilities in their workplaces. The tax credit would provide employers with 50 percent of the first $1 million of construction costs.

That is really stupid.

If only there were some technology that would allow people to work from home...

You don't like a Biden initiative.

Shocking.

This is your friend. I'm sure he's going to spin in a different way now though. Coz, you know... Reasons.

  • Travelers should avoid all travel to Canada.
  • Because of the current situation in Canada even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants and should avoid all travel to Canada.
  • If you must travel to Canada, get fully vaccinated before travel. All travelers should wear a mask, stay 6 feet from others, avoid crowds, and wash their hands.

https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/covid-4/coronavirus-canada

Not the greatest endorsement of the effectiveness of the vaccine I have seen.

Yes, all those soldiers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, trash collectors, plumbers, electricians, mechanics and unskilled labourers would really appreciate that technology.

It could by proposed by the Trumpenfuherer Himself and I would still think it is stupid.

Working from home is the only positive thing that has become normalised because of Covid, and it really is one of those things that has very few downsides.
Raising children is slightly more than paying some minimum wage teenager to keep them from killing themselves, which is exactly what a workplace childcare facility would be. It is a golden opportunity for a lot of parents to be able to work and keep an eye on their children.
