it's the corollary position. for all that you don't want anything distorting real outcomes, you also have to check that you aren't already in a situation where that's happening, and it's just not happening to you.

The studies that report racial disparities between black and white people in terms of police interaction, do they attempt to control for variables like IQ? How do you propose we correct/account for this, exactly?

I did my own research. I presented my findings. I showed the clear chain of logic behind my conclusion that the headline is accurate.

Grant was unable to tell me which part of my findings and logic were flawed, but still insists that the headline is wrong and that I posted an article with a misleading headline.

You don't get to say "you are lying", "the headline is wrong", and then "you must do your own research to figure out why". The burden of proving your claim is on you. If there was any truth to his claim, he would be able to provide evidence of that.
