Uber and Bolt drivers under threat by taxi operators

Been OK last week. On Friday I saw the taxis relegated to a different area further from the mall. When requesting a ride from there the drivers ask you whether or not the taxis are nearby.

It's thuggish behaviour on the part of the taxi conductors/drivers.

Surely the people using this service aren't the same people using taxis? These services are much more expensive than normal taxis?

There’s overlap. Before Uber, there was nothing available between taxis and buying a car (except maxi taxis). Now Uber caters to the high end taxi users.

Yeah, but I would never use a Taxi, I would use an Uber though. So it's weird that they do this. The normal meter taxi's I could kinda understand, they were the same market.
Guessing COVID is hitting their pockets, and they blame someone else as usual?

This

one day they will attack the wrong car

ANC voter base...they do as they will....3 sets of laws here:

1. Laws for the cANCer club card members
2. Laws for the Taxi muppets and other 'unions'
3. Laws for commoners such as us.....

Taxi drivers. Scum of the earth.

Add Meter Taxi's to the list. You get harassed at Gautrain stations and uber shifts the pick up point away from the station.

Drivers usually message to say please be ready to jump and go. If you are not ready they cancel the trip.

it doesn't matter who uses what, the fact of the matter is that the consumers should be able to chooses irrespective of the Taxi industry's feelings.

So, apparently there's a note going in PE saying,
- private cars can't have more than 3 people
- families going on holiday must carry a recent pic proving they're family
- companies transporting workers must apply at taxi council
Etc

It is mob rule as usual in SA , you don't like anything then you attack and burn it , no civil order no consequences nothing in a 3rd world **** hole

This is what happens when the police just "monitor" criminal behaviour.
