Uber Connect launched in South Africa

Uber has announced the launched of its new Uber Connect service in South Africa, which allows users to send packages to one another through the app.

"While restrictions continue to ease in level 2 of the nationwide lockdown, social distancing is still imperative – Uber Connect aims to keep users connected while encouraging social distancing," Uber South Africa said in a blog post.
 
Why would I use this instead of conventional couriers?

maybe you have some dehydrated fungi or herbal origanum that needs to be sent to your sick grandmother... ya mon
 
This is cool. I’m working from home. And saves me going out to drop something off at a family member...

I have been sending small parcels using the existing Uber ride app... Just tell the drive that the recipient would be waiting for you at the destination... I have done this about five times and no issues...
 
Cool idea. Stuffing drugs in a Teddy Bear is a small price to pay for convenience.
Just don't buy the f**ng teddy at Cardies, it'll be worth more than your druuks
