I always look forward to a new Ubuntu distro release (check my sig! :D).

But I will bet you a million Zimbabwe dollars that for the next 2-3 months after Lucid is released, there will be posts on the Ubuntu and various other forums complaining about how rubbish it is. Same happened with Karmic, and probably with previous releases as well.

I think I look forward to TheeMahn's release of the latest Ultimate Edition more than the vanilla Ubuntu, but like both anyway!. :)

I've been using it since Alpha, and it seriously rocks!

Even the live CD is like greased lightning!

On distrowatch there is a review (in Dutch though) of this beta--worth a look.

I can't wait, I've been using Ubuntu for two years now, and I ain't looking back. I love my Ubuntu, last week I tethered to the internet with SonyEricsson Walkman, it automated everything including MTN settings, All I had to do was click connect:D

If I have the bandwidth - will give it a try..thanks

you can get it locally probably soon...just have a look at the "Linux download locally" thread, or something like that...
im sure the Sites will have it on the FTP's very soon. and if u dont get unlimited local, its only like R15 per gig, which compared to windows 7 (like R3000) seems pretty worth it :p

One of the main things I'm stoked for is the iPhone/iPod Touch support!
I won't have to VM XP so I can use iTunes anymore!
:D

If Ubuntu 10.04 supports syncing with the iPhone, I expect Ubuntu to shoot up in the Distrowatch ratings.

Lot of people have been waiting for that.

Only for Apple to break it again in the next couple of months.

I hope they have fixed the issues with my MSI Wind that 9.10 had. Also the Huawei USB modem I was using.

Hmm, tried the beta now. with KDE.

Not too bad, the eye-candy is awesome. But stability still needs some work. I get strange dialogue boxes popping up when I never asked for one.

And VirtualBox just dies a terrible death before even starting my Windows :)

Whole system seems a bit slow too, compared to 9.10. Other than that though its looking very promising and i'll no doubt upgrade when the final is out.

Urg...when is the final release coming????? I WAANNNTTTT ITTTT!!!!!!

Just a question guys. I am currently running 9.10. If I do all my updates and pop in the Live CD and just upgrade to 10.04, will all my installed programs etc still be there? Sorry for the stupid ad stupid does question, but I have never upgraded before, have always done a clean install when a new release comes out...but I am a bit gatvol of always having to download everything from scratch and use a lot of data to do so.

Whenever I upgraded my ubuntu all the programs that was installed worked fine afterwards, but I did a network upgrade. I didn't even know you can upgrade from the liveCD :)

Yeah...when you put in a CD with a image of a later version on it it pops up with a message asking if you would like to upgrade.
