I installed Ubuntu11.04 x64 on my new i5-2400 based pc and it tells me my hardware is not compatible with unity.

It put me back on the classic desktop

System is as follows:
CPU: i5-2400, 3.10GHz
MB: DH67BL LGA1555
RAM: 2x 4GB
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 9400GT
HDD: Seagate 1TB 7200RPM

Any Suggestions?

Probably picking up something funny on the 9400gt, it works on my old Core 2 duo, HD 3670 laptop

Would you be willing to roll back to an earlier Nvidia driver to see if it takes? It's the only thing I can think trying!

Can try that,

Will also try the Nvidia driver on the nvidia site as the only issue I have had with that was with vlc.

Try the following:

Code:
glxinfo |grep rendering
direct rendering: Yes
Should be yes.

Code:
glxgears
Should show some spinning gears.

If not in both cases, then there is a driver issue.
