Title was meant to say rewards, now I can't edit it. :)

It looks like fuel purchase is now excluded from uCount rewards, very sneaky. I thought they started the reward with fuel reward points?

Collect rewards points every time you use your card – and get up to 1.5%* back in rewards points on your purchases

* Excludes gambling, toll gates, cash advances, electronic funds transfers, inter-account transfers and payments, cash withdrawals, foreign exchange purchases, cheques issued, stop and debit orders, fuel purchase and garage card purchases.

Okay - this seems way too complicated as one section seems to contract other. Rewards exist for fuel purchase in Caltex.

When using your qualifying Standard Bank personal debit, credit or cheque card to pay for your fuel purchase at participating Caltex forecourts from 16 January to 15 July 2014, you will:

Collect 25 cents* per litre if you are in Tier 1
Collect 50 cents* per litre if you are in Tier 2
Collect 75 cents* per litre if you are in Tier 3
Collect R1* per litre on if you are in Tier 4
Collecting rewards points on your fuel purchases at Caltex is limited to 20% of your total qualifying monthly card spend. This means that we will add all purchases made on your Standard Bank cards together each month except for non-Caltex fuel, toll and casino purchases. Fuel Purchases exceeding 20% of your total qualifying monthly spend will not qualify for the up to R1 per litre of fuel purchased at participating Caltex forecourts.

It was only at Caltex from the start of Ucount, introductory rewards was R1 per litre and recently they brought in the tiering based.
Still 50C a litre on Tier 2 ain't bad.

I still get my fare share - Attendants thought i was weird asking to fill up a set literage every time (rather then rand based or saying full tank)

As a side note, if you open a PureSave account you can transfer your Ucount reward points into the account as cash. Then you can transfer to your other accounts or draw the money at the atm.
