Simple response to that..
Get a fscking aircon.. first world country and all that.
Quite an investment for the couple of weeks a year you really need it.Simple response to that..

This is what makes it unpleasant - no respite last night, and tonight will be similar.

It does do heating as well, so one in a bedroom area will help year roundQuite an investment for the couple of weeks a year you really need it.

Except there's a 70 percent chance of some light rain this evening just to toss some humidity into the mix.
In extreme heat conditions when its very dry you are actually worse off with a fan as it increases the bodies temperature. Then be like your 80's parents and get a ceiling fan for the nights... It was good enough for us back then, should still be good enough now.
Runways are also meltingYea I keep wondering what they used to make their roads?
They're in UK, it's gonna happen. Then stop complaining, least you have energy... go sit in front of the fridge![]()
My house has great insulation and very efficient gas fired central heating. It does do heating as well, so one in a bedroom area will help year round
All that insulation and we can still hear the whining about the weather. My house has great insulation and very efficient gas fired central heating.
Physics says the oppositeIn extreme heat conditions when its very dry you are actually worse off with a fan as it increases the bodies temperature.
In Pretoria where I grew up this was standard in the summer. They say their roads are melting
Makes an aircon even more efficient then, for the summer portion at least. SA homes rarely focus on proper insulationMy house has great insulation and very efficient gas fired central heating.
Science doesn't agree.Physics says the opposite
More air movement = more evaporation, especially with "dry air" (aka low humidity).
