Unable to load Smartdata bundles

Everytime I try to load a smartdata bundle I get a condescending "Oops, you have loaded an invalid bundle size" message. I have tried both the old and new bundle sizes, but get the same message. Not only that, but I see that they have taken like 30c off my account balance for this privilege (which means that I am now unable to load the R310 bundle).

WTF is this now?!!

Experiencing the same problem, I tried loading a R45 bundle yesterday, kept getting the same error message and next thing I realised my account balance was down to just over R40. Looks like CellC are charging an sms rate or something for every attempt

I have just discovered the cause of the missing account balance: If you do not load data bundles, then when you connect to the internet your account balance drops. In my case I went to the Cell C website to confirm the bundle sizes. This used to be free (and the only website you could go to) when your data ran out.

I am still unable to load data bundles.

I think it stopped being free when the self-service site switched from HTTP to HTTPS some time ago, see here.

@Cell_C: can we get this fixed please?

Eventually I went into a Cell C store and they managed to load a bundle for me on their system. I tried to allocate the remaining amount on my computer when I got back and it still did not work. No one seems to know why.

So I got fed up and tried plan B: I bought an 8ta sim card with 3 gigs for R150 and that works perfectly. Not only that, but I get a much faster connection than I did with Cell C.

So thank you for that Cell C, I now have a better and cheaper connection.

Any idea whether Internet banking websites are free to access (for topup purposes)?

Update: This is now working.

I noticed that the Connector software updated itself, so not sure if that is relevant, but Cell C seem to have sorted this out.
