Well I tried this morning sending from Gmail to myself and it worked and then from gmail to my wbs account and that also worked. Could just have been they were playing with the servers the other night.

The thing is I don't use any email clients, I just use the web based email as it's a lot simplier I find and much harder to lose your email by your PC crashing.

I did notice today when I decided to try setting up an Outlook express account with a gmail pop server and iburst smtp server that Gmail uses port 465 and is an SSL connection. I don't know if this effects the web based interface but would this would make a difference when using an email client correct?

Have you had any problems with it in the past? Like servers going down and you losing emails, account hacks or anything? Sorry to go OT just wanted to ask that question.

I have never lost any posts with webmail and have never had hacking problems with it, and been with them since they started years ago.
I do prefer gmail though with the almost unlimited space plus the filters it has which webmail lacks.

My biggest gripe with webmail is the non blocking of junk mail.
