Hi everyone,

I have a prepaid MTN SIM, and I’ve been roaming internationally for the past six+ months. During this time, I noticed I’ve been regularly charged for SMSs to 45411, even though I have not sent any messages to this number. These are R2.75 each time.

I suspect it’s related to the MTN menu pop-ups that appear occasionally asking if I want to sign up for special offers or services. I’ve always pressed "Cancel", yet it seems like this still triggers a chargeable SMS in the background.

MTN whatsapp support insists I have “content services” active, but when I check the MTN app and/or use the *155# USSD code, there are no active subscriptions listed.

Is there a way to completely disable these pop-ups or prevent the SIM from sending automatic SMSs like this?

It’s frustrating being charged for services I never opted into, especially while roaming.

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, were you using your phone or your smartwatch to swipe for purchases? I just Googled, and that is what the function of this platform is. I take it you were somewhere in the UK?

There's a query template you can fill out at https://www.dynamicmobilebilling.com/
You can get hold of them via: [email protected]
So nothing of this sort.
I had the phone on WiFi only and was only using it to send an sms every 3 months to keep the SIM active , and then switch the phone back off. This was in the Netherlands.
Thanks for the tip I will try to query the charges..
MTN just says I sent sms and that content subscriptions were active but whenever I checked I saw none . Every time I'd contact them over the last few months they'd repeat this same script and I'd check the app profile section and nothing

These is a USSD setting to disable all premium sms services
