Weird that Eskom did not use the R.... word. In SA the word must be INCOMPETENCE.
Was it just me, or did anyone else find the style of writing obnoxious?
Erm....What nuclear waste?
That will only happen at half life which is the next 25000 years to 4.5 billion years.

There was no loose bolt. People just read the sensation and not the 3rd page article that come out much later to prove that there was no bolt incident.16 years ago

Why are they so desperate to get out? Could one of the reasons be that whites and coloureds are made to feel not wanted?
Context is everything. When you are an expert you understand the context of the above writing in the Shutdown Times. Imagine the SA government spoke as sternly to themselves at every corner. This was an event that is irrelevant to the public. Someone on site that is not an expert thought it prudent to leak an in house communique to the press where context does not exist.Regardless of writing style, I think the author is voicing frustration.
Frustration that many people share and feel.
The very fact that he dares to call out AA for what it is, is good.
We could all bury our heads in the sand, pretend it doesn't exist, or talk about it quietly - but its real, it exists and its costing SA dearly.
The author may not be a nuclear expert, agreed, but his sentiment on incompetence at Koeberg is indeed a reality as is AA.
Eskom themselves acknowledge the incompetence - their solution, sleep well, eat well and inform your boss if you feel offish.

NUCLEAR SAFETY: Latest red flag raised at Eskom’s Koeberg station involves technician making a ‘critical error’
Up until now, the Koeberg nuclear power station has an unblemished safety record, but the problems seem to be mounting and Eskom is putting on a brave face. Should South Africans worry?www.dailymaverick.co.za
That 3rd page article in one of the newspapers clearly said that after forensics was performed various material residues were found that are consistent with the components within the generator. There was a short. The above article prove that there was no sabotage involved. The real reasons for the event is well known.Koeberg: It wasn't the bolt | Business
It was not, after all, the much-maligned bolt in the generator of Koeberg's unit one that plunged the Western Cape into darkness.www.news24.com
Seems it wasn't a bolt
Andrew states many obvious facts. Then he states just plain lies. I cannot divulge specific details except that this should have never been a huge public concern and that he got numbers wrong on SG's delivered as well as the status of the building to house the old SG's. Completely wrong. Was the gist of the article correct?
If there were glaring errors or misconceptions, can you point out a few?
I would even go as far as saying that the person that wrote the section in the Shutdown Times was out of context on some statements. The person was clearly frustrated. Such speech should be reserved for a face to face dress down where the people you address can correct you.Regardless of writing style, I think the author is voicing frustration.

What loose bolt. Make sure before you make a fool of yourself.Koeberg, the station with the loose bolt.
Andrew has written excellent articles in the past. He messed this one up completely because the content with regards to recent happenings is NOT within his sphere of knowledge. He is probably getting the info from lackies on site and felt pressured to say something. Everything else in the article you can find online.View attachment 1273490
Andrew Kenny
When I saw the article this morning I had to go and check who wrote it because the style was extremely odd.
E.g., who writes "This is how you replace SGs and remove the old ones to a place of final disposal." instead of using a heading or something like "SGs are replaced by..."
Is it?"Koeberg has been quietly producing large amounts of cheap, clean, reliable electricity"
Well, the radioactive waste is a bit of a sore point for most.
