Hi guys

Just doing a quick product feasibility query. Would anyone be interested in uncapped ADSL accounts for R899, but with NO P2P access? Something we are thinking of introducing in the next few days.

Hi matt156,

Which company are you representing ? And which backbone are you going to be running on ?

The company is Imagine Internet, and the backbone would be on IS

But what is your definition of "uncapped" .... 100GB or 60GB or 30GB ???.

Also it might appeal to bussiness for replacing Diginet lines but for the home user without P2P what on earth are you going to use it for ???.

What's the use of uncapped if you can't do with it as you please? :/

How is P2P access prevented? Port shaping? I guess it's not exactly something you're going to openly answer, not that I think about it.. :)

Yeahhhhhh - not something we're going to tell you :)

P2P kills the business model for bandwidth.

So its basicly the IS package, removed the static ips and p2p access for R400 cheaper?

but surely internet is internet... if your not gonna download your not gonna be using nearly enough bandwidth (unless your on easynews). so this is prolly just aimed at businesses. but then businesses prolly dont need more than 20 or 30GB (if they heavy users) per adsl line.

multiple logins or single login?

Is that no p2p as in the system tries to kill it or does it mean you are cut off if you "attempt" too use p2p?

There are always ways around shaping.

I realize that but R899 is rather expensive for such a limited account for the home user.

In a word - nope.

p2p includes much more than bt or file sharing. p2p apps like Skype are far too important to me.

no skype? no joy... we are shaped as it is, it will be worse if we have NO p2p.
