Hi All

Just heard today that Internet Solution and possibly other ISP's will soon be offering uncapped Adsl[;)] Not sure when this will be available, but will be in the next 3 months. Charges for such service are still to be finalised...but we're at least getting closer to it becoming a reality. Will post more as I get the info.

Hi,

As the Managing Director of Online Digital Solutions, we have decided to offer a uncapped service for adsl, there will be the following options.

1. The Telkom line

2. The ADSL account - which will have diffrent packages eg 300pm will entitle you to a 1-20 contention ratio and a 350 pm will be 1-15 and R 400 will be 1-10. [:D]

Can you give abit more info.
For example, 1. Usage Policy (how many gigs per day etc) 2. Port Shaping (or does telkom do that) 3 Anything else etc

Your prices look fair.

I've already seen a couple of posts about uncapped ADSL, but the prices so far have been very expensive.

Should be interesting to see if a company can provide this at a reasonable rate..

While Telkom has been blaming International Bandwidth for the prices, I must clearly state it costs roughly R 4000 per 64K to land dedicated international bandwidth. So while prices are high, some time they are justified. However how the ISP splits that price and there contention ratio is the secret to success.

We will be running some demo accounts, so if you are intrested please email me at dean@ods.co.za with DEMO ADSL in the subject line. [:D]

So what is the total cost of this going to be per month (including Telkom's bit)?

What is the catch? Do you have to use a proxy? Does the speed drop to 64k after you've used 3 Gigs?

It basically boils down to making trade-offs, and whether or not you actually have the faintest clue of what you're doing, in terms of both business and technical operations.
