Vodacom vs MTN Uncapped fixed-LTE speeds and prices

MTN offers better speeds on most of its uncapped fixed-LTE packages, but Vodacom has less stringent fair usage policies (FUPs) for its comparable plans.

Internet service provider (ISP) Axxess launched uncapped fixed-LTE packages running on the Vodacom network with prices ranging from R299 to R699 towards the end of February 2024.

why don't you ever investigate what the upload speeds are on these packages? I've seen upload speed tests of around 1-2Mbps on these which makes then prety useless for anyone uploading to cloud storage etc.. Even on my Rain One 5G, I barely get more than 2Mbps upload - uploading 4-5 pictures from my phone saturates this to the extent that it times out, has to retry, and kills TCP connections whilst doing that....

I got MTN fixed LTE with MWEB, it's 10mbps up and down.

Upload speeds are always good near max speed, download isn't consistent max, sometimes half but I don't feel the drop.

A restart fixes slow performance, usually when loadshedding hits.

Mostly do YouTube, DStv, other streaming all good.
