What does abortion have to do with this? Apart from being a red herring?

There seems to be this implication that women suddenly have to take zero responsibilities for unwanted pregnancies.

There is this continuous blame shift BS:

  • Contraceptives only work 80%
  • Abortions vs pro-life
  • "When are YOU adopting a child ?!?!"
  • etc...etc...etc...red herrings EVERYWHERE
If this young woman:

  • were on any form of female contraception and
  • demanded the man use contraception ( let's not forget about STD's) and
  • Said : "NO!"
...she would not get pregnant and have a baby she cannot provide for.

Prove me wrong.

Not disagreeing, the child is her responsibility and she chose to be a mother, it was simply in regards to having empathy for a mother struggling to take care of herself and her child with a meager salary.

The guy criticizing the mother(in the comments) is the same guy who said if a woman chooses to have sex, she has to handle the consequences and shouldn't abort. NOW he is saying the woman has to bear the brunt of the economy as well, while other commenters are assuming she is an ANC voter and is having kids simply to get welfare.

It was just an observation that those that care so much about the unborn babies, don't really care about the child version or adult version of that same baby that they get so emotional about.

Has she considered walking? At least some of the way? I mean if she can walk in R25 a day, she can at least buy a loaf of bread and maybe a veg or fruit.

Its very, very sad and actually I stopped someone on Sat who was "in que" asking other buyers to buy him food. He told me about where he used to work (blue collar) and was disturbing customers asking customers to help him to buy wors and pap and a buddy coke. He was a legit guy and told me about his stories and pretty intelligent as well, I was really asking myself how can he come this low, nevertheless, I paid for his meal x2 wors+pap+gravy and soft drink (R35). Although the majority as they say in law "have the key to their prison cell" some just dont vote in the wrong way and they screwed.

People really dont know what to do, they have come to the end of their line. And then you get some on radio who cry about the 4 children they have and them having no food etc etc and when you do come with groceries they either:

1. Keep you waiting, besides arranging a time
2. Come with a R700 000 car to pick it up (a week later there photo-posing with CR Ramaphosa)
3. or it ifs a bank transfer you notice thats its a scam
4. Promise to pay when they have an income

Just give with a open hand...

Each and every one has their real life dire circumstances. Its tough, I agree people should not have multiple children without a steady income, but you must also realise that the government has corrupted them as well, they is some fraudsters but the vast majority are really in need. There are just simple-minded people, who have made mistakes. Begging for food for a person who used to feed herself and others is not shame, this also includes aunts who bad "bad investments".

And sadly the above sort of environment is what allows fraudsters like MTI to take people for millions.. People are desperate, and that desperation leads them to take risks with what little they have.
