I need advice from someone who knows about digital cameras.
I've done some Googling and came up with some options of what to buy, but then one of my friends threw in a few more options and now I'm a bit lost again.

I want a good camera for under R2000.
My requirements are :
1) good picture quality (colour, sharpness, speed, image stabilisation)
2) good HD video
3) good features

i don't care about:
1) weight
2) design/ looks
3) LCD quality / touch screen

My original options were : Nikon S4000 and Fuji S1800

Fuji looked the better, so i was reasonable happy that i was gonna go with that.
But then a friend sent me an email with Makro special and there's the Nikon L110 and the Nikon S8000 at R1999.

So now I'm confused again.

Can anyone help me??!!

Which of these cameras is the best, and is there maybe another camera out there under R2000 that's even better?

You may want to do a DPReview.com 'side-by-side' comparison...
Hmmmm... good site. Thing is, i don't know much about cameras, which means i dont know what half of those specs are! :)
I was hoping to get some advice from someone who would know, hence the question posted here :)

EDIT:
I've seen a few places where they say "Don't get the L110", so I'm scratching that one off the list

My primary need is a photo camera... I'm gonna be taking a lot more pics than videos, so my focus is the quality in the pics. The HD video is an bonus, cos i see cameras in that price range seem to be doing very decent HD video.
Here's the thing... i could easily buy any of these camera's and it'll be very very decent (from all the Googling I've done)
The charou in me, though ( ...:) ), wants to squeeze out the best combination of image quality and device features for the price... which is the point of this thread.
I wonder if there's a camera website out there that has a "top ten low-budget cameras" article
...Back to Google!

Ok, so this whole buying-a-camera thing turned out to be much harder than i thought, but i'm going with the Fuji S1800.
Will post some n00b pics once i have it in my hands on it
Time to go learn something about photography.
