Undersea cables serving South Africa

Nine undersea cables link South Africa to other parts of Africa and different continents, and combined, they span approximately 143,570km.

For a long time, Telkom was the dominant player in South Africa regarding controlling fibre routes out of the country via the SAT-3 and SAFE undersea cables.

But with CDN's now located within the borders of SA, what is the traffic split between local vs international looking like?

Perhaps @Jan someone can ask the big fibre guys (Afrihost, Cool Ideas etc) if they are willing to share?

Read it as severed, was concerned that I might have to get a TV Lic to watch SABC now....

Perhaps by the end of this week?

Well, at least they waited till the middle of the month instead!
