I was on a call with Cool Ideas around the time Fibrehoods blew a gascet and the techie said that FH is on the PPOE which isnt great and Vuma is on some dynamic network.

Would someone mind elaborating the differences between the 2 networks?

Fibrehoods/Vumatel Aerial provide a layer2 service via GPON, Vumatel Active Ethernet is Layer3 so is just IP routing.

2 different and separate networks due to a few commercial reasons.

What is the difference in speed?
We have vuma Ariel?

The network can cater for the same endpoints, just pon works on a different technology where the capacity is split and "shared" if you will.
The original head ends had 2.5Up and 1.25G down line cards that were split 32 ways for 100Mbps to each home. I am not sure of the new deployment.

Just FYI, but there's no reason why AON can't be layer II as well :) Hand off via QinQ exactly as the PON networks are doing.

Yeap we would like this as well, lots of the Vumatel issues have been because of their layer3 between us and customer.
