UniForum bringing .africa, .joburg, .durban and .capetown domains

it should be .jhb, .cpt, .dbn much easier to type?
Yep. Waste of time. Should rather open up the .za domain to more than just ".org.za" and ".co.za". How about .jhb.za, .cpt.za and .dbn.za if they really need these localized domains, but hell, nowhere in the world do you find top-level domains as long as ".capetown" or even ".africa" - it would have to be .af or something. I very much doubt it will be accepted, or even used much if it's passed

I really think it is a money making scheme more than anything else, now you have to buy more domains to defend your existing name and there will be even more squatting.

Uniforum managing more domains?!?!?!

They can barely cope with what they currently have ffs.

Oh? I thought it's Cape Town. :p

South Africa has three capital cities: Cape Town, as the seat of Parliament, is the legislative capital; Pretoria, as the seat of the President and Cabinet, is the administrative capital; and Bloemfontein, as the seat of the Supreme Court of Appeal, is the judicial capital.

Google is your friend (yes, even after the Facebook IPO). ;-)

CT is still the REAL capital;P

Off topic, but I think that the constitution only refers to Cape Town as housing parliment, and doesn't call pretoria or Bloem a capital. Also, can Bloem really be considered the judical capital with the Con Court in Joburg?

On topic, these domians, while nice, are too long and unlikely to be used by many sites.
