Court cases are being heard under a tree at the Musina Magistrate's Court. The buildings were cordoned off on Monday after they were declared occupational health hazard. #sabcnews

What's wrong with that, it was quite normal before colonization.
Cases were not heard under trees. Every clan had a dedicated building at the entrance of every enclave and at the main royal kraal of the village. The much older villages still have these buildings.

They were not only used to hear cases, but also discuss other matters affecting the village.

What's wrong with that, it was quite normal before colonization.
Near the centre of Ndola, Zambia is an old tree known as The Slave Tree where Swahili slave traders used to ply their trade.
