Yeah no, our army is completely useless as it is you'll just add to the burden.

I like the idea of cleaning up towns & doing community work better.
Nothing for free in this life, you gotta work for it else it means nothing, like a library building that just begs for a burning.
That's a better idea. Community Service Conscription.

I get that this is easier to just give people money instead of actually creating jobs through investment...:cautious:

TUs, with their dumb and illogical demands, kind of contribute to the joblessness in the country. Maybe they should let government make the decisions and concentrate on their union members!

All of a sudden retirement sounds like something to look forward to, stay home and make beer

It's already close to R2k a month. I have been telling my mum to divorce my dad so that she doesn’t have any assets and can claim it.

Yup, divorce at pension age is good, then you can both go get the R1900 pension from guavament each month

It will never be R1500. Thats easily R10000 per tax payer.

Suddenly all the gardeners, domestic workers, self employed street corner workers will be 'unemployed'.

SA IDs will become extremely popular (it actually already is).

Are the unions totally f***ed and out of their minds!! Good f**k! What can you do with R1,500 a month in this expensive country! Why not do the right thing and demand R70k a month!

If people are eligible irrespective of race, then I'd say it's a good idea if implemented properly.
This will be about race, we all know that. Previously disadvantaged first, but only certain previously disadvantaged. People who look like Jamnadas or Patty need not apply...

Why not rather get the unemployed pick up garbage or do some choirs twice a week for R1500.

What a difference that will make to fix some of these small towns that look like sh*t.

Yeah singing isn't going to solve jackschit
