D00s actually.
Yes, unfortunately. This will be about race, we all know that. Previously disadvantaged first, but only certain previously disadvantaged. People who look like Jamnadas or Patty need not apply...
Thought we were friends.ftfy
That explains a lot.I don't have friends.
Reposting what I said in another thread about BIG:Unions push for R1,500 basic income grant in South Africa
South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu) general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi has called for the introduction of a R1,500 monthly grant aimed at South Africans over the age of 18 without work.
I agree. My view on it as well.Reposting what I said in another thread about BIG:
Look, SA just doesn't have the finances for it rn. Actually, IMO, a BIG could work but
- It should replace most of the current grants
- It should have strict conditions that are heavily reinforced
- Should act as an incentive to find jobs, become self-employed and not to become a gov-sponsored NEET
Don't worry the government pays it.
With what money?
Now that was truly an enlightening session on the toilet.I remember thinking about this a while back while on the toilet.
Essentially a basic will result in more essential goods becoming VAT free and to discourage the poor from spending money on non essentials we would see VAT increase to 25% on all non essential goods and that's not counting sugar tax and sin taxes.

Agreed, and agreed, however...Reposting what I said in another thread about BIG:

The location to the money-shedding tree is a highly classified and guarded secret.Don't worry the government pays it

Did I mention how people are actually going to spend the money? You're assuming the money will only be spent on basic goods. This is free cash, the people will spend it however they please and simply just get less stuff on the more expensive or taxed goods.
