Timely post.. I watched "Awake" last night.
Rubbish movie but scary what can happen to your brain after days of no sleep

Sitting here I've been awake since Wednesday morning 6 o'clock, didn't sleep a single wink last night..

This hits different than when it was still clubbing days, when we went for weekends & my fav saying was 'I'll sleep when I'm dead'.

I'm going to pop a Zolpidem in a bit and hope drift off for a good rest.

Tried thinz once or twice (what were they a diet pill; amphetamines?)...a whole night of dancing and still awake the whole of the next day and struggling to sleep the following night. Fun times. Day after clubbing was always rough.

There's a lot in the article that I do not agree with.

I sleep 4-6 hrs a day. Mostly 5, and more 4 than 6. I can do 2 days straight and still not do more than 6 hrs after that.
When my eyes open I am awake, not groggy.
I either exercise at home or go to gym. Min 1hr a day, early part of day.
I do not eat or drink anything that contains coffee/tea. Nor do I consume any energy drinks.
I've not had flu/cold in about 4-5 years, probably closer to 5.
I am not groggy during the day either.

Hmmmmmm, Ambien...

My sleep pattern was permanently ruined because I worked nightshifts. I've simply never been able to recover, and run on an average of 4hrs sleep during the week, sometimes longer on weekends. It's been over 8 years since it started. Zolpidem was a godsend but, as you probably already know, the longer you get that sweet sleep from it, the more you need...
