Hey.
I know someone that got DSL installed this week, and has harvested alot of DSL accounts, I warned him against using them, but he believes he cant be traced. If you are a WebAfrica client you will know that port numbers and everything is available even part of the WebAfrica conrol panel, and port numbers are static so if there is a complain it will easily be followed up to that subscriber.
Now since he has proven to me that he actually has these accounts, I have taken the appropriate measures to portect my accounts etc, incase there is any theft from anybody attempting to access my router, however if I do notice any usage on my system that shouldnt be there what can I do? Will it help at all.
The best thing, if its WebAfrica just to write down their port number and tell my ISP/Telkom? If its on my TelkomInternet accounts, just tell Telkom?
Will they even care if I report usage like that? Will they just say, its your fault.Any words of warning or knowledge that I may pass onto this new DSL subscriber to warn him against usage of this nature?
