See http://www.telecomplus.net/adsl_tariffs.htm , they are charging around R600 for a 512/128K ADSL with unlimited usage! Mauritius is so close to South Africa, I don't think their bandwidth is any cheaper than SA, but they are providing such a service at half the price Telkom is charging!

If a tiny little island country like Mauritius can provide high speed internet at decent prices, then Telkom has no excuse!!! Bastards.

Telkom must be going "<font color="navy">&8$#@! Mauritius is giving the game away!</font id="navy">"

Poor Telkom! Where are the excuses going to come from now?

The 512/128 business product is more expensive that in ZA, but it has the magic words:

UNLIMITED

in it.

I also like their "entry" product which is targeted at the home user with "free access" limited to non-business hours. Add to the accounting complexity of 3 free hours and the rest at about 25c (our money). Can you think imagine the mess such complexity would add to our phone bills?[^]

I doubt if Telkom would ever consider such a product! Just think about providing consumers with lowspeed ADSL at a meagre R370 per month. Must be bad to profits!

South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.

The offpeak product they advertise is really cool for home users IMHO - considering I'm only home during those hours [;)] Now if only Telkom would consider doing that...dreams...
