Whats the gaming performance like? Has anyone who has the 5G rain tested with FPS games like CSGO? The only thing holding me back from ordering is worries about latency with FPS games specifically. I've been hurt by 4G xD
The stability will most likely decrease once more people sign up & the towers become congested.

So today I took my 5G router for some speedtests around Centurion. Wierdapark, Hennops Park, Die Hoewes, Lyttleton, Pierre van Ryneveld, Eldoraigne and The Reeds.

Some speedtests from various testing apps and servers.

you have a mobile 5G "pebble", or a setup to give your "fixed" 5G router 12 volts in your car ?

Very easy self made cable. Car is already 12v with decent power so I know the 2A max power draw from the router will be met. Lighter Plug with fuse. DC to DC buck module just to be able to keep an eye on the voltage and to keep it stable at 12v should anything happen.

Setup cost like R30 at communica. R15 for lighter plug with fuse. R8 for 5m wire. R6 for the DC power connector. I already had the DC to DC buck so did not buy that now.

The router can by the way handle I think between 9-32v

I did not want to take a chance and blow the thing. Very expensive tech don't wan't to ruin it :giggle:

That said from my tests you can get between 650 - 710Mbps with LOS and close to the tower. 400 - 550Mbps for no LOS and about 500-1km away from the tower. The upload is the first thing that tanks. 200-400Mbps is a realistic figure on average depending obviously on signal.

Yeah with me being about 1.6km from that tower or something the max download I have seen is 260mbps and a upload of about 6mbps

But tonight I’m going to the other house and then hopefully things should get interesting

5G came up again about an hour ago….. :)
Yeah I agree on the latter part of your post for sure. Indoor speeds I see on my side as well is about half that of outdoor.

What is this new 200GB gig limit? Website error or did they just destroy a very decent 5G offering?

Looks like they are working on the website. Login and check. I see a 200GB limit. I would need to phone them

Think it might be a setting that has moved from the normal sim peak data to the 5G sim by mistake. Otherwise I can tell you now this is over

I see it’s also pretty messed up as it shows me my spend limit as R10000 for 200GB so yeah some bug from the looks of it. Hopefully it’s sorted out soon enough
