After 24 months what happens to the unit? Do you have to return it?
I think only once you cancel the service, so if you move to the monthly plan, you probably keep the router until you completely cancel

It seems you now get a 5G outdoor router with indoor unit from Rain.
Rain is supposed to come out today, to help me with my connection.
Will let you know what unit they installed.

@PAYBACK, I am opposite to where you live, so it could be beneficial for you as well.

Thanks. Have had the ODU for 4 weeks and have pretty happy with it until last week. Don't like that there is no WAN port on this combined unit. Maybe they should come test the other unit by me not sure results would be any better though. My problem seems to be network related and not equipment. Would be nice if there was comparison sheet for the three different units.

Have messaged my technical guy but have yet to get response. Have managed to speak with customer care guy who has escalated to network team. Apparently they are trying to access my ODU remotely and are having issues. Not a guru when it comes to this but I did see there are some RAIN settings in the back-end of the ODU which should allow them access unit.

Must check, but do remember it being enabled last time I checked. Wife says internet down so they might be fiddling with it. The modem that is

When the 5g tower is down 4g is really bad on it as it runs in 2600 lte mode I can't do anything with mine and then my 4g rain just works.

She said none existent. Zero internet. Anyways with check it when I get home. Funny when I had the 5G went down with load shedding and I was exclusively on 4G (as indicated by modem) It was running like it was now with speeds between 60-140. Not sure if that is 2600 LTE?

You complain they test from their side and decide simple as that about 2 weeks no special process etc

problem is if you did the activate after you got the device they don’t exactly care then as you must have got 80mbps + to activate and that’s their min in the agreement on this product

Thanks, will tell him to keep pestering then. Max speed he's gotten is 22mb iirc... So am guessing he wouldn't have activated

Well if he can access any web page then he has activated otherwise they give you the number on that optimiser page with a special number you quote if it’s not good they test and if they can’t get it to work they refund and leave or give you the outdoor if your SNIR is positive and full signal

No... No access from the router to any webpages, when you connect to the WiFi it loads the optimiser

I've linked his stats below

@SNaidoo those are some awesome speeds

@SNaidoo: Does that unit have to be installed under a roof as it does not appear to be waterproof with all those air vents at the base?
