Unpalatable brown water pours from taps in Parys

Love how RedViking breaks down posts, but doesn't offer anything else to the conversation. A lot like the ANC.

PS: You vote for ****, you're going to get ****. Not saying the specific woman voted for them, but I didn't vote for them either. I still get disgusting brown water in my taps at least 3 or 4 times a year. I still suffer under load shedding. I still struggle because of high tax, corruption theft and crime. You've seen who Parys' municipality is run by - the ANC. We've seen what the ANC does. Surprise? No. Post is typically MyBB, true. What else must we do about the above?

From now on on news articles we should all just post "oh". Give no opinion, because apparently it's typically MyBB to hate the government that's busy running this country into the ground.

Learn to read.
I read, but I don't think you sufficiently comprehend.

To quote from the article:
“[The problem is] our ageing water reticulation network, which results in water being contaminated once it leaves the treatment plant, as it is distributed to residents. Many years of poor maintenance and neglect has resulted in an extremely bad network.
“It has been estimated that water losses in the network may be as high as 40%,” he said.
“On the municipal level, we’re also hampered by the municipal financial situation. Ngwathe’s finances are in shambles - basically insolvent, with literally everything [if it gets done] being done on credit. In just the first three months of the current financial year, our debt grew by about R140m.
“So, there’s just no money to fix the problem. With more than R2b of debt and a very low-income collection rate, service delivery will in time grind to a halt, unless the finances improve,” Vrey added.

The statement was made that this is the fault of the ANC. From the above, this is quite clear. You think the infrastructure is not maintained because a) naughty fairies, or b) governance failing at every single level of the municipality?

And then you swagger in with snarky little one-liners. And snarky little one-liners are actually my thing.

So this broken pipe... why is it not found and fixed? Which party is in charge of the municipality and not making sure it is doing it's job regardign said pipe?
Wait, what? Now you expect things to be fixed before they are even noticed?

No I don't, try again with a different vector if you want to attack my comment. My comment is based in the various indicators in the article that it's an old problem, and if it indeed just some broken pipe as RedViking says, then is been broken for a while and hence my question.

Selma Kok from the Vaal Action Group, which monitors pollution in the Vaal Dam, said the problem had been ongoing for years.

“Our water is brown. This means we can’t do much with it, people are basically without water. The quality of water is not good at all,” said Kok.

Think @Daruk commented tongue in cheek.

Wahahaha
Nobody was attacking anything. Too much drama. Time to go back to work dude.

I think you highlighted the real issue with this thread. Not enough drama. LOL
