Sign up with GoogleBeen having problems for the last few months with Vodacom 3G. Any one else have problems in Eastern Pta? Keeps dropping connection. Eventually it went down entirely, and no amount of trying for days would fix the problem. They eventually sent an engineer to check the tower. They sent SMSs and the odd phone call to say they had not fixed it. After a two week drama, at least the connection came up again... but it is totally unstable. They then phoned to tell me that they would put up another tower - a month ago at least and nothing has happened. I have to reconnect a few times every session.
I also had lurking suspicions this has to do with HSDPA... Generally from day one the experience has not been great. The Vodacom store staff were utterly contradictory and confused about what you could and could not do. There 155 service isn't always up to scratch either... Sometimes it feels as if they don't keep records of previous complaints, and we go throught the same tedious steps over and over... Does anyone have any information on how wide spread the problems are, and whether or not it will ever come right? If not need to start looking at alternatives.
