I'm using ewido and avg, no problems no matter how many pr0n sites i visited. It's a 30 day trial so you stop getting updates after 30 days, but the program is still fully functional. Or you could try getting the full thing using *cough* torrents or newsgroups *cough*

i use the same combination, however from what i understand when the 30 days are up, only automatic updates are disabled - you would still be able to click the "Manual Update" button and receive the update.

Hmm if that's the case then it's all the more worth it, I'm still waiting for the 30 days to expire to see what happens. I was using windows defender but for some reason I just find the Grisoft products so much more simpler and less happy on resources.

Yeah, I'm waiting for mine to expire as well to see what happens. If all I need to do is manually update it and still be protected, it'll be well worth it. :)

well, Whatever you do don't get norton anti-virus. It drains your memory like hell and thus acts like a virus

Apparently with ewido it's more than the auto-updates that get disabled after 30 days. The resident shield which continuously monitors your pc also gets disabled, so you have to manually scan for spyware every now and then.

yeh... another reason to reserve IE exclusively for banking and some sites which aren't firefox friendly...

/edit : before I get flamed, you can also use Opera or whatever else's out there... ;)
