Think its time to start looking at 'loadshedding' solutions. Need to maintain about 1kw for 2.5 hours - 3x a day.

We had that, were on the hospital grid - neighbouring houses complained, so we were taken off.

Dog in the manger attitude by the neighbours

Still dealing with a lot of kak here, literally. Sewerage is the next big problem.
SA will come down to needing to provide everything for yourself. Septic tank, borehole with filtration system, solar, gated community etc. And yet, every 4 years, the people keep voting for poor leadership.

Eskom has zero generation coming online in the next 2-3 years (excluding renewables) so LS is here to stay. Just spend the bucks and be happy.

Well, I'm already on sceptic so its a bit of a sick fascination hearing others in the hood moan about overflowing sewerage :p

The alarming thing is, winter hasn't even arrived.
So not even day 1 of 100 days of winter loadshedding yet?

I am disappoint.

But I tell ya know who's having a fat laugh right now?
Yeah, you guesses it..

What I dont understand, I live in a suburb of Milnerton, in Cape Town, We pay all our rates and taxes to the City Of Cape Town.
How is it that only a select few in Cape Town have electricity supplied via the COT, the rest fall on Eskom yet I pay for all the rates.

The DA marginalises their districts but our rates and taxes fund their keeping the lights on for the rich.
They make out like they do good, but there is a big devide on who and where they focus.

Are all the units from Medupi and Kusile up and running and connected to the grid?

Also I think they need to replace the boilers on many of the generation units - hopefully that will lead to them being more reliable.

Medupi has all units commissioned less the one that blew up. Kusile 4/6 online hooked up. Both of those have very serious quality issues that will keep them hobbled for a long time. I don't think they plan on replacing any of the old boilers as there doesn't seem to be a decision on coal and how they replace the museum pieces.

They'll remember that. Out of spite they will probably cause some faults at your house soon

They absolutely would  but luckily they don't know who paid and who didn't.

BTW they're still here
