That's still not funny dude. Would you like de Reyters job of trying to fix ESKOM after it's been pulled through so many stinking ANC asses..
It is de Ruyter. And if de Ruyter was fixing Eskom, why does it continue to break and getting worse and worse?

How can he fix Eskom if he's not allowed to fire staff?

He's not in full control there.
Is that not maybe just an excuse? I don't know. But not sure why he gets special favour if things are far from getting better.

He is getting a free pass that no other Eskom or any other SOE CEO got, I think people are slightly conflicted on the guy, for reasons they will never admit to of course.

True.

I honestly think of him as "being in charge" but with his hands tied as far as what he is and what he isn't allowed to do.

I'm horribly conflicted on the guy because I know he could probably make a fundamental difference at Eskom relatively quickly if he was given the freedom to do so, but his hands are tied in some areas which makes it more difficult.

But that feeling would apply to any ceo of the group currently since we all know that they need to shed staff but the boatload but can't.

I doubt firing some staff is going to add more MW and stop the constant issues.

Eskom have been increasing electricity prices by way above inflation since forever. So even if they can't fire staff, they just need to not hire new staff and they'd have surplus funds to invest into infrastructure. Not sure where all the money has gone/goes.

We aren't scheduled at the moment but I'm seeing messages on the whatsapp groups about power tripping all over the suburb. Infrastructure is already on the fritz

Employ a CEO of a packaging company to manage a massive energy firm, this is what you land up with.
