What is the cost per unit to run a commercial generator for a building I'm starting to think it might be cheaper to run a generator
Tyger Waterfront buildings, with the amount of units probably not doable.

My brother and his family stayed in a complex for the last 6 months which had a generator while renovating their house in Newlands. He was quite chuffed with the generator thing for that complex.

They moving back to the newly renovated house again now, without any backup lol.

It's actually an improvement and didn't warrant Stage 4

Durbanville, Cape Town, was supposed to come back online at 0h30. Running 12 minutes + late now. Very unusual.

Is the grid finally in its moer?
Oh no only 12 minutes, we came back 3 and a half hours later then went off again at midnight. Going to go off again at 8am, batteries are taking a hammering with this every 6 hours

4 hours and counting of additional loadshedding outside of whatever random block the city decides my suburb is on so far today.

In a way, this is actually positive - at least in terms of baseload capacity.

Is loadshedding still active? My area (10 CoCT) was supposed to go off at 10, it never did.

It also was supposed to be off from 6am, power never went off
Yeah it is. We went off at 8AM this morning on schedule On again at 10:30PM, and 30 minutes earlier as usual.

How is one supposed to plan around this incompetence. I rushed home last night to be home before 10pm so I can just into bed before the power goes out. Only to notice by 11 power was still on.

This morning we were supposed to be off from 6am so the guy I live with got up at 5am to get ready for work, instead of his usual time of 6am. Power never went off.

Not sure if its perhaps CoCT pulling some rabbits out of the hat and we're actually on a lower stage than 3

For today coct announced:
6am-10am = stage 1
10am-10pm = stage 3
10pm onwards = stage 4

So yes you can plan, but you have to adjust to coct changing their levels all the time. So its nice they can reduce the stage but like you say, annoying to figure out when it is what stage.

The eskomsepush app does make this easier though.
