  • Alcohol: Consideration should be given to the limitation of alcohol sales on Election Day.

Huh?
Why? Am I going to celebrate the **** out of voting for the ANC? For me it is just another day where I sleep in a bit and later walk across the road around 16:30 and go quickly vote.

How is banning alcohol sales on Election day going to do anything?

Everyone would have been paid before that date (mostly) and would just buy on Saturday or Sunday.
Fscking hell this current MAC and DoH lot are a bunch of monumental retards

Oh right, we'll let the government know that maxxis just sleeps in and then walks across the road to vote so there is no need to consider anything or anyone else

The recommendations were made by health experts on the Covid-19 Ministerial Advisory Committee (MAC), and suggest that curfew and gathering restrictions could be relaxed on election day itself.

So one big super spreader event then

The bodies are going to be piling up in the streets!

Their plan is for people not to walk/taxi/drive to liquor outlets on that day. They want to ensure that people have enough time to vote etc.

Their plan is fatally flawed, people will just buy before hand and then not be able to walk...

being on a Monday many people already can't walk/work due to babalaas anyway, so closing bottle stores won't fix that.

What about those of us who are washing our hair on that day?
