Is there a way one can establish when telkom has upgraded my ADSL speeds in Early November in order to advise your ISP?

well u can gointo your router and see if its been upgraded

like at the 15th of nov (they start at 11th) reset your router and see if its upgraded

and if not only time will tell...

and if u dont get upgraded in nov, u have to wait till feb 2014 :/
b4 they will start upgrading again

Got the same problem now.. trying to decide whether to order 1Mbps or 2Mbps.. if I order 1Mbps and the speed increases then meh.. same time I order 2Mbps and the line doesn't get upgraded at all = meh meh :(

i would opt for the highest one you can get,. I increased from 512 to 1 Meg last year and thirty days later was automatically upgraded to 2 meg.
They normally start at the higher speeds and work down to the lower speeds so the 1 Meg would be done last.
I am with Axxess and was informed yesterday that the upgrade from 2 Meg to 4 Meg will also be free so will still pay for a 4 meg service the same as what i am paying now for a 2 Meg service which is quite a happy surprise.

Anyone know if they're going to do the same with 1meg > 2meg upgrades? As far as I remember, they didn't do that with 384kb > 1meg during the last round of upgrades.

If not them, are there any other ISPs out there who are going to keep to the same price for 1meg to 2meg upgrades? I'm guessing 2meg will pretty much be the new entry level after these upgrades are complete, so it would be nice if the ISPs kept their current 1meg prices for those going to 2meg lines.

I'm pretty sure they did but I could be wrong.

Zimbabwe's average download speed is faster than South Africa's.

It was quite a while ago, but as I remember, they kept the 384kb and 1meg pricing as they were. The 384kb pricing was something like ~R90 at the time. Once you were upgraded to 1meg, you couldn't just keep paying R90; you had to upgrade to the ~R150 at the time 1meg price if you wanted to use your 1meg line to the full. I moved away from them at that time to someone with a slightly cheaper 1meg uncapped price, plus for one or two other reasons.
