Upgrade time...but agent that call me has me limited to terrible phone options

So this month I am qualified for an upgrade on my contract. Been very happy with 8ta/TelkomMobile thus far in all honesty, I have had 0 trouble thus far with them, the network, quality ect.

Friendly lady calls me today (I had no idea I could upgrade) and explains I can upgrade ect. Now she suggested I have to go to Smartplan 100 while I am currently on Contract 3s, which seems like a downgrade to me. Not too happy about that, but it is not the end of the world either.

Now come my problem, I only qualify to go to 2 specific phones (according to the system infront of the lady), which is:
- Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus s5301
- Blackberry 9720

Both terrible options. Like what?! According to their system I don't qualify for anything else. Told her nicely I will make another plan. I don't understand why I am limited to the above, when there is far better phones and deals available on the website, and even then it is phones I am not interested in.

Guess I will have to look to go back to another network, even though I have been very happy with TelkomMobile.

Thus far, the Sony Z1 Compact from MTN looks the closest to what I want :(

Rather go into a Telkom mobile shop...

+1 When I was in sales we were given cash incentives to push certain/older stock. Go into a store and guaranteed you will have a lot more options

I did a quick drop in at a Telkom shop and the options definitely seemed much better and matched the website.
