Hi all,

Im in the process of purchasing a flat.

I got my bond approved in the middle of March and the lawyers received instructions to transfer on to my name about that time.

About a month ago i was told the seller has an interdict against his name and it has been about a month that it hasnt been lifted.

So its almost 4 months and i dont have my flat.

Does anyone know how long it takes and what can be done ?

Maybe its just me, but what does the interdict have to do with him selling the place?

I also don't get this,

I spoke to the seller and he says he missed a payment but I guess its more than that.

My lawyers gave me an update that the interdict was meant to be lifted on the 01st of July.

How long is this long and bumpy ride ?

Probably because the interdict is against him selling anything. Its probably a insolvency thing... or a divorce. He can't sell his assets as they don't belong to him anymore.

Probably a good idea to find out why there is an interdict and negotiate with the other party.
