I have a Mecer UPS/Inverter and two 102Ah batteries. Early next month I am moving to a new place which has an empty space below the stairs. I plan on storing my network hardware and a small server in there. Quite conveniently the telkom port is in there. The space is roughly 1m x 1m.

Would I run into any issues with running the UPS from under the stairs?

Thats the thing... I can see some gaps around the stairs. I am not sure if its enough so I do plan on adding fans - IN at the bottom and OUT at the top. I had 140mm fans in mind.

Would that be better or still a bad idea?

Well you will need ventilation for heat management. Also depends on the batteries. Are they completely sealed with no gas emissions or do they have heat/pressure vents?

It the latter you do not want them in your house.

I plan on using two 140mm fans for air flow, but I'm not sure if this is enough.
The batteries are no maintenance silver calcium. They look completely sealed.

Isn't that where harry potter is supposed to live? Where will he go if you stuff his room full of hardware.
