Hi all,

I need some urgent help please with the Huawei Y300-0100 phone with Android 4.1.1
It's my partners phone at work and she is slowly going nuts!
Basically, every 5 minutes, sometimes even more, the phone goes off and tells her the 54% this and 30% that.

How the hell do you turn this off?!?

Find and launch the 'Mobile Broadcasts' app. Touch menu button, select 'Settings' then turn off 'Alert Remider'. Also deselect 'MTN Zone' in 'Channel configuration'.

I played with the phone quite a bit last night and don't remember seeing that app.
I'm also very sure it's not a MTN phone, it's a Vodacom because the message is Y4L 54% and whatever else 30%

Sometimes hard to find apps with stock launcher as it does not have a dedicated app drawer. I found Holo Launcher HD a good replacement, free from Google play store and much smoother in operation. You may want to try that.

You can check if the Mobile Broadcasts app is installed by navigating to the Manage Apps section in Settings.

Sorry for assuming MTN, but procedure should be similar, just disable everything in the Channel Configuration section...

I appreciate the suggestions, I'm going to try and check tonight and see... This poor girl is losing her mind because even with the phone on SILENT or VIBRATE, it still goes off so often and it's even starting to irritate me.
