Maybe Putin underestimated human nature. Sometimes we all individually or as a nation want to stand together and just get stuck in and bust something up and today Russia is it.
But if we all had to hate then the world would be full of hatred. Would that be a wonderful world to live in?

I still hold the view that hatred is not a part of our nature, it is simply a byproduct of our society as a whole.

People have choices, some choose hate, some people choose love whilst others are simply incapable of either.

Always some spinning with you lot, actually entertaining thanks
Well, how did they position that DJI Phantom so perfectly for the shot? The battery only lasts 20 or so minutes... But hey keep on believing everything you see

Even though I don't think the Hitler comparisons are fair, Putin does superficially seem like he really should retire and pass the baton on to someone else but can't trust anyone enough to do it.

Age and stress has gotten to the guy.

What are you suggesting happened? A Russian helicopter was not shot down or a Ukrainian pilot sacrificed his life and flew a captured helicopter in a propaganda video?

Did I miss any other option?

I will say however, truly f**k to Putin, his Generals, his army and their enablers. The only thing that they have caused so far is unnecessary death and mind blowing destruction. I feel all of that, not just some of it.

And as much as I truly believe that the Ukrainian people have never deserved what it is that they face, I do truly believe that the Russian people do not either, it is pure sadism.

Getting your arse handed to you on a plate does tend to do that.

Also he seems to be ballooning. Probably stress eating, or a problem with blood pressure/water retention from stress. Or some other internal struggle maybe...
He must know that he's done nothing but harm by now. In Ukraine, In Russia, and the entire rest of the world. Even his power brokers are feeling it.

He's entirely in touch, with whatever his inner circle are telling him, and they don't tell him unpleasant things because he's fscking mental.
I think they thought Zelensky would book the fxxk out of Kyiv on day 1, the army would capitulate and they could roll into Kyiv as liberators.

Any sanctions would be mild and short lived, as the war would be over and a new government would be established that thanked and welcomed Russia.

Basically the way Crimea went in 2014.

I don't think he expected the mass of economic sanctions at all.
