Does anyone know what the actual rules are regarding South African citizens heading over to Ukraine to go and fight? Our local WhatsApp group has three laaitjies soliciting donations to get themselves over there.

Yeah it would be a war crime if they actually do this.

Very much so, but if the stated aim is to "capture" enemy soldiers you approach an engagement very differently...
If you no longer care about capturing soldiers, you just engage hard and fast, and well what happens happens.

Better to have the whole conversation, and the transcript (with BBC commentary),

THE F&*^ the EU lady.

Shows you what kind of people are running the US and how bad their decline is.

It wasn't a coup Vlad...

yes it was, a fully US instigated regime change operation. read the article for a deep understanding, on the origins (it also speaks to Putin's propaganda)

Bush’s government also launched a project of what are called the Color-Coded Revolutions, primarily against Russian-leaning states in their near-abroad. These are essentially U.S. coup d’état’s disguised as fake "revolutions" backed by the CIA, National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and friendly, supposedly private NGOs like Otpor. This trend started in the Bill Clinton years with mixed success in Albania in 1996, Montenegro and Croatia in 1997, Slovakia and Armenia in 1998 and Serbia in 2000. Bush brought the successful Serbian template to Georgia with the Rose Revolution in 2003, the Orange Revolution in Ukraine in 2004, the failed Denim Revolution in Belarus in 2005, the short-lived Tulip Revolution in Tajikistan in 2005, the failed Cedar Revolution in Lebanon in 2005, and disastrous Green Revolution in Iran during Obama’s presidency in 2009.

It would be highly illegal as far as I understand it from the Mercenary Act.

So it was a US coup then?

Why did you reference NATO or McCain earlier then?

I find it weird how people don't see regime change as a form of imperialism. As much as Putin is a fascistic POS, it's not hard to be opposed to this or see what's wrong with it. Trump ran on the promise to not effect any regime change and many supported him.

This absolute black and white view of everything is really just so confounding.

McCain promised them weapons and said that if they go on the "offense" against Russia he would go home and make the case that it's Russia's fault.
NATO is just a vehicle for US regime change.

Just because you opposed the Iraq war doesn't mean you endorse Saddam Hussein's killings of the Kurds. That is the nuance that you're not getting here.

I just think it's US arrogance. Due to US hegemony, their politicians run around the planet thinking they are the Democracy police. At some point this has to stop. Not a single condemnation of Graham and the other politician (I cannot recall now) urging Ukraine to go on the offensive. Europe at some point has to say enough. The US goes into Europe and parts of Asia and just wrecks areas while European countries are flooded with refugees and economic migrants.

If the parliament of a country votes out the president, that's not a coup.

As far as I know it is not allowed, illegal.

I remember some old army guys were in trouble for doing it(news some years back)

But apparently there is a loophole if you work as security.
